Das M\u00e4dchen lebt bei ihr in M\u00fcnchen und kehrt nach \u00fcber 20 Operationen zu ihrer Mutter in Ostafrika zur\u00fcck. Vierzig Jahre sp\u00e4ter bricht Luitgard nach Somaliland auf, um vor Ort nach der jungen Frau zu suchen. Denn das hat sie ihrem Sohn Konstantin versprochen. Als Konstantin \u00fcberraschend verstirbt, m\u00f6chte Luitgard dieses Versprechen einl\u00f6sen. Doch weil die Suche ergebnislos verl\u00e4uft, muss sich die mittlerweile 80j\u00e4hrige auf andere Weise mit ihrem Schicksal vers\u00f6hnen. Fadumo, a little Somali refugee girl. Returning from a humanitarian mission in Somalia, Luitgard took Fadumo with her to Germany where she stayed for two years and had more than 20 surgical operations. After her sucessful recovery Fadumo returned to her mother in East Africa. 40 years later Luitgard travels to Somaliland to search for the young woman. It is a promise she made to her son Konstantin who tragically died in an accident. Luitgard wants to keep her promise &#8211; but she does not manage to find Fadumo. By now, Luitgard is 80 years old &#8211; and needs peace of mind.
